Your sight correction is achieved with a custom designed Ortho K lens similar to a contact lens. When placed on your eye, the Ortho K lens floats on your tear-film and while you sleep the lens gently reshapes your cornea (the front surface of your eye) to correct your distance vision. When you wake up, you simply remove the lens and see, without needing to wear contacts or glasses during the whole day.
Your vision remains good all day without the need for further correction. In some cases you may get good sight that lasts a couple of days.
- It is a great alternative to wearing glasses – no fogging, better for active lifestyles, and it’s easy to wear fashion and wrap sunglasses without interfering with your sight.
- Better Comfort - Because you wear the lens with your eyes closed while you sleep, you do not get the irritation and dryness that is common with many types of contact lenses. Ortho K is often also suitable for you if you can no longer wear soft contact lenses due to allergy, dryness or discomfort.
- More Freedom - Having no lens on during the day is better when in dusty environments and for some activities that are limited by a normal contact lens.
- No Surgery - If you are concerned about surgery, Ortho K is a viable alternative. It is more cost effective, non surgical and reversible.
